Non-GMO

Non-GMO products are free of genetically engineered ingredients, verified through third-party testing or certification.

Non-GMO products are typically third-party verified, for example by the Non-GMO Project. This means the seeds, ingredients, and feed used contain no genetically modified organisms.

While the scientific consensus supports the safety of approved GMO crops, many people prefer products made without genetic engineering — for environmental, ecological, or personal reasons.

For animal products, a non-GMO label generally also covers the feed given to livestock and poultry. No producer on Community FarmTable holds a verified certification yet; a certification will appear on a listing only after we have checked it with the producer.

Is "Non-GMO" the same as "Organic"?+
