Kosher

Kosher-certified products meet strict Jewish dietary law requirements, verified by an accredited rabbinical authority.

Kosher certification on Community FarmTable means the product has been inspected and approved by a recognized rabbinical kosher certifying agency (such as OU, OK, or KOF-K). This covers the entire production process, from ingredient sourcing to equipment and facility inspection.

For meat and poultry, kosher requirements include specific slaughter methods (shechita), inspection for physical defects (bedika), and complete removal of certain fats and the sciatic nerve. Dairy and meat products must remain strictly separated throughout production.

Our kosher-certified farm partners adhere to year-round standards, not just seasonal inspections. This gives our community members with kosher dietary requirements confidence in every product they order.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does kosher certification mean?+
A rabbinical certifying agency has verified the product and its production process complies with halacha (Jewish law) dietary requirements.
Can non-Jewish customers benefit from kosher products?+
Many non-Jewish customers choose kosher products for their rigorous inspection standards, which often exceed those required by secular food safety regulators.
Are all products from a kosher farm automatically kosher?+
No. Each product must be individually certified. A farm may have some kosher-certified products and others that are not.
