About
Creole Bowl brings authentic Louisiana Creole cuisine to Chicago's Lawndale community. Chef Tanya Duplessis grew up cooking in her grandmother's New Orleans kitchen and brought that tradition north when she moved to Chicago in 2010.
We use Gulf seafood shipped fresh weekly, and source our vegetables and herbs from local Chicago farms. Our roux is made the right way — slow-cooked for 45 minutes until it reaches a dark chocolate color.
Every bowl at Creole Bowl is a portal to the Bayou. The holy trinity, the dark roux, the andouille — these aren't shortcuts, they're traditions. Come eat with us and bring your appetite.
